In the middle of the frame, the colliding galaxies NGC 7318A and 7318B are hard to miss. To its right is NGC 7319 with its long tentacle like spiral arms. The bluish NGC 7320, 35 million light years away is not a physical member of the group. NGC 7317 is visible to the left of NGC 7318A/B and the nice target like NGC 7320C is to the right of NGC 7319. The four galaxies namely NGC 7317, NGC 7318A/B, NGC 7319 are 300 million light years away!

In the right corner is the "Milky Way's twin", NGC 7331. This jewel was discovered by renowned astronomer Sir William Herschel, in 1784. One curious feature of the galaxy is its central core or bulge, which rotates in the opposite direction than its disk! The name "Deer Lick" is thought to be attributed to an amateur astronomer, naming it after a mountain site where he first observed it.

In the neighborhood of NGC 7331 are four other members, affectionately referred to as the "fleas": the lenticular or unbarred spirals NGC 7335 (floating above the disk of NGC 7331) and NGC 7336, the barred spiral galaxy NGC 7337 (with clear visible spiral arms) and the elliptical galaxy NGC 7340 above it. These galaxies lie at distances of approximately 332, 365, 348 and 294 million light years, respectively.
